Snoring is common phenomenon in modern society as obesity is becoming more popular due to increasing calorie intake and fat deposition. Snoring is caused by things such as your tongue, mouth, throat or airways vibrating while breathing. It is prominent during sleep for your body to relax and airways to narrow as you are asleep. Long term snoring is not only a nuisance for your bed partner, but also impairs your own sleep quality and can even lead to sleep apnoea where the airways can fully obstruct.
This situation may cause excessive daytime sleepiness which can lead to a period desaturation & arousal from sleep. Daytime sleepiness is harmful for personal sociability, and can even increase the risk of traffic accidents. Moreover, it is associated with various health problem such as heart disease, diabetes, stroke and so on. Most citizens don't really pay much attention to these serious problems.
