Health Inequalities in kiDney Disease: mEeting the urgent Need to identify early disease in high risk communities (HIDDEN): Development of engagement material for people of African or Afro-Caribbean ancestry living in the UK Medical students with experience of living or working with communities of people of African or Afro-Caribbean ancestry living in the UK are needed to join a team who are developing engagement material to raise awareness of the high rates of Chronic Kidney Disease in people of black ethnicity living in the UK. We are supported by Kidney Care UK and are working with Medical Aid Films to develop short animations which will be used in the future to promote community CKD testing events. Previous experience of animation/filming welcomed but not essential. Passion and commitment to improving health outcomes for people of African or Afro-Caribbean ancestry living in the UK and ideas and opinions on optimal methods to access this hard to reach community are more important! The team will meet on Zoom approximately twice per month to progress the study. We are aiming to have completed material ready by April 2021. There will also be an opportunity to help design and participate in ongoing community testing studies in the future.
